UTXO

An unspent transaction output that can be used as an input in a later Bitcoin transaction.

Self-custody

Control of the signing keys by the holder, with responsibility for device security and recovery.

Mnemonic

A human-readable word sequence used to derive deterministic wallet seed material.

Passphrase

An additional seed-derivation input. A different BIP39 passphrase produces a different valid wallet.

Derivation path

A sequence of indexes selecting a branch in a hierarchical deterministic wallet.

XPUB

An extended public key that can derive public addresses and reveal history without signing transactions.

Coin control

Choosing individual UTXOs to spend, taking origin, fees, and privacy into account.

Change

Value returned to an address controlled by the sender after recipient outputs and fees.

PSBT

A structured container for exchanging partially signed Bitcoin transaction information.

RBF / CPFP

Fee-management approaches for some unconfirmed transactions, subject to policy and available outputs.

CoinJoin

A collaborative transaction pattern that can introduce ambiguity between inputs and outputs; not an anonymity guarantee.

Native asset

The asset native to a blockchain, commonly used for its network fees.

Token identity

A network-specific contract, mint, policy, or type that distinguishes a token from another with the same symbol.

Network adapter

Software that handles the address, data, fee, and transaction rules of a particular network.

Gas

The execution resource used by EVM transactions; the network sets the fee rules.

Memo / destination tag

An additional routing field that some recipients require to credit the intended account.

Cross-network transfer

Movement through an explicitly supported route between chains, with dependencies distinct from an ordinary transfer.
